A brief history on Shelbyfest:
In 2006, six men that had just gotten their 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustangs met in Creve Couer Park to get to know each other and show off their cars. Essentially dubbed the "St Louis Seven" since they were joined by another who's GT500 had not arrived at the dealership yet, the display caused quite a spectacle attracting passers by who stopped for a chance to see the most exciting addition to the automotive world in a long time.
Many pictures were taken and then posted on what is now the Team Shelby website. Talk of another gathering lead one of the attendees to suggest a picturesque farm setting in the heart of Missouri's wine country.
The first Shelbyfest took place in Hermann Missouri and attracted an amazing 26 cars (amazing since the GT500's were still barely crawling off the lines). Owners came from 5 states to participate and once again drew quite a crowd at Hermann Ford, where the event was held. After the "show", the cars "idled" to the Carlton Young farm outside of town for a photo shoot. Pictures made the rounds on the internet and created a lasting reputation for the uniqueness of the event.
Shelbyfest 2008 grew beyond our wildest dreams. We attracted just shy of 160 cars from 10 states. Shelby owners traveled from as far as Pennsylvania and Wisconsin to be a part of what is rapidly becoming the premier show of it's kind.
Shelbyfest 2009 set new attendance records with cars coming from 15 states as far away as Texas, Ohio, and Colorado. We grew to 260 cars and filled the city streets providing visitors and residents alike the opportunity to feast their eyes on some of the finest mustangs that exist today. Representing all ends of the mustang world, all vintages were present including a strong contingency of vintage Shelby's and mustangs. Some of the finest AC Cobras in the region were even present thanks to the Mid America Cobra Club. We were even graced with the presence of a couple of Ford GT's as well as a Sunbeam Tiger or two.
Shelbyfest 2010 promises to be even bigger and better than before. With interest coming from 18 states (so far), our family continues to grow...
