Shelbyfest 2011

April 28th through May 1st
Hermann MO.

2011 is our fifth anniversary

Letter from our founder:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

2010 was another wonderful year to be a member of the Shelbyfest family. Cars came from 23 states to sample what has become the most unique "car show" experience in the United States. Despite the rain, we accomplished a number of great things:

   1. 220 cars registered and stayed for the show Saturday

   2. We welcomed many new members to "the family"

   3. We raised $2700 for The Make A Wish Foundation

Shelbyfest is best described as a "family reunion" style event combined with a vendor expo and a "show and shine" style car show. If you have never been to Shelbyfest, you owe it to yourself to come see us.

We were also very fortunate to get to be host to editors from Mustang Monthly Magazine, The Mustang Times Magazine, and Mustang Magazine.

One of the unique highlights of this year's show was the Saturday banquet. John Clor from Ford Motor Company spoke about the direction of the company as well as the direction of the SVT division. We also were honored this year to have two of the engine builders from the Romeo-Niche line plant at Shelbyfest. It was my pleasure to be able to bring them in front of our crowd and show them how much we appreciate what they do in the form of thunderous applause. I hope to see more folks from the Ford plants at Shelbyfest in the future.

Many sponsors helped make this year's event special and I would like to list them here:

R&A Motorsports, Gateway Performance, Classic Design Concepts, Carstar, Gateway Classic Mustangs, Wier Performance, Clear Auto Bra LLC, BVM Performance, Kelsey Tires, Metco, Show Car Detail, SVT Owner's Association, Ford Racing, The Ford Performance Group, American Muscle, Borla Exhaust, Jegs, Hermann's Chamber of Commerce, The City of Hermann, and Hermann's own Wings A Blazin.

Looking to the future, I am proud to announce a couple of things. First, I am proud to announce that The Make A Wish Foundation has signed on to be out charitable partner again for 2011. Second, I have formed the Horsepower With A Heart Foundation. You will be seeing the foundation logo The foundation will exist to assist automotive events interface with charitable causes to make a difference in families' lives. I look forward to making a positive impact in the lives of people by sharing the tremendous energy and wonderful camaraderie I have come to know from all the people I have met at all the car shows and automotive events I have attended.

So one last thank you to all those who have attended and to those who have sponsored Shelbyfest. 2011 is our fifth anniversary and there are many things on the agenda to make sure we commemorate our fifth year in style. Stay tuned to the news page as the details unfold.

Sincerely,

Kyle Caraway

Shelbyfest Founder
